Remarks & Notes
Here is an antique Ford highrail used by the Union Transportation Co on a storage track. Viewer Bill McBride adds this info from John Brinkmann's book on the Pembroke line: "Sometime in the early 1930's they were converted to rail use and used for inspections and personal travel of two employees who lived up the line in Hightstown. Come 1952, the NJ Turnpike was under construction which cut the railroad between Hightstown and Pemberton as the cost of an overpass was too expensive. The railroad was worried the employees would leave them on the Hightstown side of the cut."
