Remarks & Notes
Mother nature is pushing the ties every which way on the former Southern Pacific Santa Monica Branch (Pacific Electric Santa Monica Airline) just east of Culver City and Sentous Yard. Built as the Los Angeles and Independence Railroad, this rail line was intended to make Santa Monica the port of Los Angeles. It lost out to Long Beach and San Pedro, and instead became a resort/home to Hollywood Stars. Sadly, though, it's now a city without a railroad.
