Penn Central E8A #4253 pulls past the manual crossing gates that protected Augusta Street. Because 3300 trains changed from E-units to GG1s (or reverse) here, the watchman had to bring these gates up and down a few times for each arrival. This E-unit was delivered to the PRR in 1952 as EP22 #5793A. Later, in Nov of 1978, ICG rebuilt it into NJDOT #4325 (and another E into 4253). It went on to become MARC #61 and is now in Minerva, OH.
