It's kind of hard to believe that one of the first revenue runs of this locomotive was out here to little Tracy, Minnesota, but here it is! After bringing westbound train 255 from Bensenville Yard in Chicago to the Rapid City, Pierre & Western interchange here in Tracy, semiquincentennial painted KCS 1776 waits for the rested crew to take train 254 back east. When they arrived shortly after I took this picture, the engineer told me that the locomotive's odometer had just 1600 miles on it when they boarded it the previous day in Waseca.
