SSP GP39-2 #3901 with five loaded centerbeams from the Washington, Idaho & Montana Railway climbs out of Palouse, WA as it approaches Palouse River Cut, which is exactly what it sounds like; a rock cut that the SS&P traverses through parallel to the Palouse River. The real “cut” is behind us in this image, earlier in the day I was able to catch them bringing empties through the cut LHF.
