Reflecting On The Moment. During the afternoon of March 14, 2019, New York, Susquehanna, and Western Railway's UT-1 was serving Oneida Warehousing off of Route 8 in New Hartford, New York, when melting snow created a reflection in the gauge. Though presently out of service and not original to the railroad, NYSW GP40 3040 (née-AWP 732, 5/1970) has been the mainstay of the Utica operation for many years and will forever be linked in the minds of many railfans with the street-running portion of this line. Catching this was luck, as the run occurred much later in the day than expected.
