| BN 6009, obviously a former GN SD7 sits between asssignments with 4 more SD9s and SD7s next to the roundhouse at Belknap Yard in Superior. Aside from the encroaching green paint a lone SD40-2 gives us a sign that an era started in the early 1950s is coming to an end. Everything would be green by the end of 1978, and the older SD's would survive to some extent into the early 1990s. |
