Western Maryland Rides Again
Western Maryland Scenic Railroad's Allegheny Winter Express rolls through the iconic Helmstetter's Curve in La Vale, MD. Today, 561, the "Circus scheme" B32-8 is leading the way to Frostburg, where the crew will swap ends for 539 to lead the way back to Cumberland. Helmsteader's is one of the most iconic spots on the former Western Maryland Mainline, and it's one of the few places where tracks are still in place.
