Auto Start
CSX M332, an Avon, IN to Cumberland, MD manifest, sits tied down just west of town. Up front is a duo of SD70MACs rebuilt in-house by CSX in Huntington, WV. 4712 is equipped with an Automatic Engine Start-Stop system (AESS), which periodically shuts off the engine to save fuel, while firing it back up to keep it warm and ready to run. I just so happened to snap this photo as 4712 was auto-starting, hence the plume of smoke.
