| MILW 5 leads a westbound hotshot through Winona just ahead of the Amtrak Empire Builder. It will likely stay ahead of the passenger train all the way to St. Paul Yard since Amtrak will stop at Winona and Red Wing before reaching the Twin Cities. Milwaukee's mainline from Chicago to St. Paul was double tracked until after the Soo Line purchase in the mid 1980s. |
