Remarks & Notes
Ferrocarriles Nacionales de México began purchasing Alco RS-11 locomotives in April 1951, with both high short-hoods and low short-hoods (often called "noses"). In 1963 these orders shifted over to ALCO's Canadian subsidiary, Montreal Locomotive Works, and they had also settled on only low short-hoods by then.

The final order of NDM RS-11s was built from January through April 1964, and included this locomotive, Ferrocarriles Nacionales de México 7281, photographed 20 years later in Guadalajara, in the state of Jalisco, México.
