Remarks & Notes 
The British Columbia Electric Railway as built in 1910 as an interurban trolley service for passengers (until the 1950s), as well moving freight (such as farm produce). The BCER was taken over by Crown corporation (a type of organization that is structured like a private corporation, but is directly and wholly owned by the Canadian federal government or a provincial government) BC Hydro in 1961, becoming BC Hydro Railway. (In 1989, it became the Southern Railway of British Columbia.)

BC Hydro caboose A-2 is one of possibly 15 cabooses in service on the BCH (records on the actual number are vague, but I found photos of cars A-1 through A-15 online, although some numbers are lacking photographic evidence).
