Holidays on the Hudson.
Metro-North Railroad (MNR) M8 car 9231 is the lead unit on Hudson Line train 750, seen rounding the curve at Scarborough Station. These M8 cars are typically reserved for New Haven Line service, as they are able to operate on both the former New York Central Railroad's third rail electrification and the former New York, New Haven & Hartford Railroad's overhead electrification. Occasionally the cars find themselves on the Harlem or Hudson Lines as a substitute for M3A or M7A cars, or to move to Croton-Harmon for maintenance. For the 2025 holiday season, this consist has been decorated with festive lights and was operating as one of the railroad's two Holiday Lights Trains.
