The Bernina Line of the Rhaetian Railway has seen a sharp increase in passenger numbers over recent years. Of course, it is one of the most beautiful railway lines in existence. Over the Christmas and New Year holidays, the rush, especially from Italy (Tirano), is almost impossible to cope with. All RhB rolling stock that can be used on the Bernina line with its tight curve radii is then in service. In the morning in Tirano and in the afternoon in St. Moritz, long queues of passengers form, waiting for a ride. "Allegra" railcar ABe 8/12 # 3511 pulls the regional train 4621 of the line R19 from St.Moritz to Tirano over the upper Ova da Bernina bridge near the Alp da Buond Sur, between Bernina Lagalb and Ospizio Bernina. The train has 7 cars, which is combinded with the 3-car Allegra, the longest possible on this line. On this day, all regular trains had the maximum length of 10 carbodies. In the background from left Piz Albris (3166 meter a.s.l.), Piz Pischa (3138 m) and Piz Alv (2975 m).
