VIA Rail train 2, the eastbound Canadian, heading from Vancouver, British Columbia, to Montréal, Québec, makes a stop at the old Canadian National station in Portage la Prairie, across from the Manitoba Pool grain elevator, at sunset. Powering train 2 this evening are VIA FP9 6512, F9B 6653 and FP9 6559. Built by the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway In 1908, this station at Portage la Prairie was later used by Canadian National Railway, VIA Rail, and Greyhound Bus Lines.
