My how things have changed..... UP 6111 leads a C&NW ore train over the Hwy 86 bridge near Catawba, WI in November of 1990. These seasonal ore trains ran from the Twin Ports to Escanaba and used WC (ex-Soo) tracks for much of the east/west run across Wisconsin. Fast forward to 2025 and both the C&NW and the WC are gone. The dock in Escanaba is closed and these trains no longer run. This portion of the line between Ladysmith and Prentice doesn't see any traffic as it is out of service. Even Hwy 86 is gone, as bridge issues forced the highway to be rerouted and renamed Hwy O.
