| Denver & Rio Grande Western #480, the first in a series of ten narrow gauge heavy duty Mikados built in 1925, heads north to Silverton, CO on October 24, 2025 with her mixed train. This location on the Durango and Silverton is known as "New Curve" at milepost 492.6. This photographic location offers a dramatic background with the Rocky Mountains to the south imposing their might and beauty onto the narrow gauge rails in the Animas River Canyon below. |
