More than 10 years ago, the RUWA wire welding plant in Sumiswald took over the two Ee 3/3 electric shunting locomotives "pocket crocodiles" # 16403 and # 16408 (built 1946) from SBB in order to deliver freight cars from Sumiswald-Grünen station to the plant premises (approx. 2 kilometers) using its own resources. On November 23, 2025, the Railway Touring Company from Great Britain, together with the Bern Steam Railway Association (DBB), organized a trip with a passenger train and the two Ee 3/3 locomotives along the entire route of the Emmentalbahn from Sumiswald-Grünen to Wasen im Emmental (5.2 kilometers). Due to snow and ice, the track had to be cleared at various level crossings and the train had to be driven very carefully. In Wasen im Emmental, end of the line, both locomotives are standing side by side for a short moment. Ee 3/3 # 16403 on the left was built in 1944, # 16408 in 1946, and were bought by the RUWA in 2013.
