There's not many C&O R2 signals left in service and only this one controlling movements on the original C&O mainline that I'm aware of. The rest are scattered between the West Virginia coal lines and the Big Sandy Subdivision (where this train is headed).
This signal in particular used to control movements to and from the steel mill of its namesake. A dwarf mounted on the left of the cantilever controlled movements for the industrial track while the overhead signal controlled mainline movements.
CSXT 7102 is a rebuild AC44CW, original number being #42. Maintenance of way work ahead at Clyffside has forced the train to take the No. 1 main all the way to Big Sandy Jct. rather than taking main Nos. 2 or 3. Its destination is Coal Run, Ky. today.
