Amtrak train 291 'Ethan Allen Express' from NYC to Burlington is approaching Saratoga Springs Station, with P42C 9700 leading the train. 9700 was born as AMTK 184 and is the first P42C "cab car" of the series, wearing the new livery.

Amtrak Adirondack and Predecessors

The Adirondack follows both the Hudson and the Lake Champlain shoreline on its leisurely trip between New York and Montreal. When it started, it was pulled by beautiful ALCO PAs purchased by Delaware & Hudson second-hand from the Santa Fe.
