Remarks & Notes
Running Under The Sunset. Amtrak Train 1246 (Berkshire Flyer) was leading into the curve at Annsville Creek as it passed through Peekskill, New York on the way to New York Penn Station on the evening of Sunday, August 3, 2025, with an unusual double header due to a mechanical issue earlier in the day. This was about 15 minutes before the official sunset time, 8:09 PM Eastern Daylight Saving, but the mountains on the other side of the Hudson River expedited the darkness. The angle of about 290 degrees is almost directly over the tracks, and is about 10 degrees short of where the sun would be at this time on June 21.
