With the curious town of Marfa TX visible on the near horizon, and just past the Marfa Lights observation spot, UP 5831 dig in to the climb over Paisano Pass, a few miles ahead. Paisano Pass is the high point of railroading in the state of Texas. Not visible below the frame in this picture, the Texas Pacifico (one time Santa Fe) cuts under the highway to begin their lonely journey to the tiny border town of Presidio, TX.
