Heritage Scene To Start The Morning. On Wednesday, July 16, 2025, Amtrak Train 63-69 (the combined Maple Leaf-Adirondack) was led by Phase II heritage P42DC AMTK 130. The train was at the Yonkers, New York station in a good location for a passing meet with MTA Metro-North Railroad with P32AC-DM MNCW 211, MNR's 40th Anniversary/New York Central heritage unit. Visible in the background is the preserved New York Central Yonkers Station entrance, and behind it the former Third Avenue Railway System car barn, which is today the "Trolley Lofts". While Phase II was not introduced by Amtrak until 1974 and Penn Central was created in 1968, it is not too difficult to imagine that this meet could have happened with E units since things were necessarily painted in a timely fashion in those days.
