The Chesapeake & Ohio Heritage Unit crests the grade at the front of an aggregate rock train. This rock is loaded in Freyco, VA, and transported down to Benning, DC, which then travels up Amtrak's Northeast Corridor to Bowie, MD, and then down the Pope Creek Subdivision to either Waldorf or La Plata, MD.
