The truck that delivered OCTA S700 104 to Santa Ana has dropped part of the trailer and pulled forward with the tractor and the wheeled-portion of the trailer, leaving the section that carries the Light Rail Vehicle above the tracks in Santa Ana Boulevard. Now comes the delicate part: Making sure the rails on this unwheeled section of the trailer line up with the rails in the street (which will require some adjustments), extending the rails from the trailer to the street, lowering this whole piece of equipment and then rolling the trolley off using a winch. Finally, a Ford F350 equipped for Hirail use and a trolley coupler will tow this car into the the OCTA's shop complex, the staff of which will later attach the faring under the headlights and install the pantograph. This who process will take about an hour. (Santa Ana, California – July 9, 2025)
