The Aeam 841 # 031 locomotive of the LokpoolAG was developed by Müller Technologie AG in Frauenfeld primarily for use in shunting, construction site, and cargo services. As things stand today, 80% of journeys can be carried out using pantographs with overhead line power, with the remaining 20% covered by batteries or a diesel generator. The new tribrid locomotive is designed to ensure 100% energy independence across multiple work assignments and shifts. Thanks to tribrid operation, diesel consumption is reduced by 85%. The basis of ths "new" locomotive is former SBB diesellocomotive Am 841 # 031 built by GEC Alstom in Spain in a series of 40 in 1996/1997. Several of this locomotives were bought from the SBB by Lokpool and Müller. Some were used after revision by Lokpool as diesellocomotives Am 841. The Aeam 841 # 031, weighing 78,5 ton with a maximum velocity of 100 km/h, is entering Landquart as test train 97515 from Sargans.
