Remarks & Notes |
I saw a rail grinding train for the first time as a kid from the bleachers of the Cleveland Browns stadium. Needless to say it was much more interesting to me than the football game, especially considering it was after dark and showers of sparks were flying everywhere. I was fascinated at the time and thrilled to stumble across one working last week between Lansing and Durand, MI. The sights(and smell) makes for quite the show, not to mention the confused and mesmerized looks of motorists waiting at the crossing. This particular set also had 2 coach cars on it for jobs in remote areas where travel to hotels is not feasible. |
