The Nesquehoning turn. After backing upgrade out of Jim Thorpe, PA to the west switch on the wye at Nesquehoning, the Reading & Northern's empty Fall Colors Special consist rolls through the signals on the west leg, making the second of the three moves required to turn the train for the late afternoon run back to Reading. It's only 12:40 PM on this late October day and it's already just plain dark. The photo chase is pretty much done for now and it will be 4 more hours before anything of significance happens. The traffic in Jim Thorpe can best be described as "gridlock" and parking there is next to non-existent, so there's no sense in going there. It's time to grab some lunch, find a place to park, and maybe take a nap. For those who are really ambitious, it's time to start scouting for a place to shoot the departure.
