Remarks & Notes
I am fairly certain that this is the Apollo, AP1, the Newark to Chicago train that was carved out of Conrail's opening-day ops in order to ensure that there was till competition. Interestingly, this train would travel very little actual D&H rail, starting on Conrail's ex Lehigh Valley and then Conrail's ex Lehigh Valley that was ex CNJ, and then a brief patch of actual original D&H, before hitting Conrail's ex Erie Lackawanna, before reaching Norfolk & Western's ex Nickel Plate Road, which is where we see it here.
