Remarks & Notes
Seventy-Five Footers on the South Brooklyn. New York City Transit Authority (NYCTA) R46 car 6204 is on the end of an 8-car train being shoved under the Gowanus Expressway onto the South Brooklyn Railway. The cars were recently retired from revenue service, and were heading off the property to meet their fate at the scrapper. Unlike other retired cars, the R46 are 75 feet long and are limited in where they can operate - even having restrictions on the B Division! Some will likely be kept for the NY Transit Museum, but the vast majority will be leaving via the SBK - fittingly the same way they arrived.
