NECR 323 heads northbound past the old B&M Putney depot on a warm May Friday evening with the 4068, 4066 and 2168 which was picked up in Brattleboro. The station hasn't seen a regularly scheduled passenger train stop in nearly 70 years, but was once a vital economic link from Southern Vermont to the rest of the country. Today, it survives as a comfortable AirBNB where rail enthusiasts can view Amtrak, New England Central and Berkshire & Eastern pass by on a daily basis. The field in the foreground was once a multi track team yard where goods were loaded and unloaded and brought up the hill to the town.
