While seeing Amtrak here is not entirely unusual, seeing Amtrak here at this hour, heading north, with a deadhead move...is. A plane crashed into the mainline in South Florida, shutting down all rail operations, so Amtrak's "Silver Meteor" was canceled south of Orlando. An extra crew was called to take over the train at Orlando, run to Auburndale and run the consist around the wye, then back north to Jacksonville. Yes, there is a wye in Taft Yard and one south of there at Stanton Connection....but....on the short notice (and with CFRC involved), that was the easiest turnaround. So this is an empty passenger train headed past the CFRC control center and maintenance facility at what was once just the north end of Sanford. And I promise you, the post office a couple blocks to the right is legitimately "Lake Monroe". The lake has its own address.
