Remarks & Notes
Yesterday, the Beach ... Today, the Desert!

Rounding the iconic curve leading to Cajon Pass' Summit is BNSF Officer Special train O-THDTHD2-01A, which originated in Thenard (near the Port of Los Angeles) and is bound for Barstow, in California's Mojave Desert, and will then return to Thenard - a round-trip of 330 miles (531 km). BNSF ES44C4 8173 is in charge of this 10-car train. In the distance, BNSF train H-BARSDG1-01 descends from the Summit on its way to San Diego from Barstow. (Cajon Pass, California – May 1, 2025)
