| Iowa Interstate's Rock Island heritage locomotive runs along side the former Rock Island Peoria passenger station which was opened in 1900 and served passengers until 1967. This is the former destination of the Chicago to Peoria "Peoria Rocket" and in 1978 was listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. Today, you can get a window seat at the Blue Duck Barbecue Tavern (in the station building), have a great meal, and maybe see a train pass by. |
