Union Pacific’s Rio Grande heritage unit brings an empty set of coal hoppers bound for storage to the Mississippi Export’s yard in Helena, MS. After interchanging from CSX in Pascagoula, they would use MSE’s old interchange line through downtown Moss Point. Since the opening of the new interchange on the east side of town a few years ago, the old line has primarily been used for storage, seeing virtually no traffic. Pictured here, the north end of the line features a 1,300 ft portion of trackage all but street running the aptly named Railroad St just south of the company headquarters.
