Remarks & Notes
Few Remaining. A New York City Transit Authority (NYCTA) F train climbs to Smith-9th Streets Station on the IND Culver Line. At the time, the R46 cars were being transferred off the F and R services in preparation for CBTC activation on the Queens Boulevard Line. Nowadays, the cars' days are numbered as the R211 fleet - their replacement - grows in size every week. The cars were built by Pullman-Standard from 1975-1978, meaning the first batches that were built will be reaching 50 years of service this year.
