Rail Safety: Los Angeles, the largest railroad safety event in more than a decade, presented by San Bernardino Railroad Historical Society (SBRHS) with presenting partners Los Angeles Union Station, Metro, Metrolink, and Amtrak, is a part of Rail Safety Month . This free, two-day event takes place on Track 15 at Los Angeles Union Station on Saturday, September 21 and Sunday, September 22, 2024 from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm daily.
The star of the show, of course, is Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe Railway 4-8-4 3751, all steamed up and looking glorious. And it sounded great as well, as when I detrained Amtrak Pacific Surfliner 784 and within seconds heard the 1951's whistle!
