The UP Big Boy crosses New Poag Road near Mitchell, Illinois. The train was delayed more than an hour, putting its arrival close to sunset. With smoke from forest fires in the western US in the atmosphere, there was an added golden glow. The UP real-time train locator was frozen at a location 40 miles back and the train surprised everyone. I noticed the engine has been tagged on the nose. Is this graffiti or does it have some other significance?
