Remarks & Notes |
On the day exactly 125 years after the inauguration of the Oensingen-Balsthal Railway (OeBB), both the scheduled freight train and an additional extra freight train were run with steam on this day. SBB Historic's “Mallet” Ed 2x2/2 # 196, built in 1893 by Maffei in Munich for the Swiss Central Railway (SCB) and now stationed in Balsthal, was used. Here, the 0-4-4-0 "Mallet" steam locomotive of 1891 places two flat wagons loaded with empty red Kebag waste containers on the siding of the loading station near Klus station. The track branches off onto open track and the maneuver has attracted various railroad photographers. |
