Remarks & Notes |
BNSF 8994 North leads an empty coal train back to Wyoming's Powder River Basin as it descends UP's Main Two track after topping over the summit of the Palmer Divide. On BNSF's Main One track, a loaded BNSF coal train waits for the empty northbound to clear the single-track section before it can top over the 7,200 ft summit at Palmer Lake. In the foreground, BNSF 8478 is the lone motor in the spur track at Spruce reserved to assist a train if they break down while climbing the grade out of Denver. |
