Moving Fuel. On the afternoon of May 26, 2019, Norfolk Southern Train 776 (Shire Oaks, PA-Hyco, NC) with coal loads passed Train 65E (Linden, NJ-Chicago, IL) with ethanol empties in Summerhill, Pennsylvania under the Automatic 263 signals. Just a few weeks later, these vintage signals would be taken down, removing one of the most recognizable railroad landmarks in the area. Coal and ethanol still move through here side by side almost every day, a reminder the railroads will find a way to transport any cargo.
