A Grand Trunk Western freight heads northbound through McCook, Illinois, on the afternoon of December 5, 1987. GTW No. 6405 is a former Detroit, Toledo & Ironton Railroad EMD GP38, joining the GTW locomotive roster with the railroad’s acquisition of the DT&I in 1980.
