On a snowy, but sunny March 24th, 2024, snow-covered Amtrak P42DC #130, painted in the Phase II heritage scheme, leads southbound Vermonter Train 57 past the former Boston & Maine Charlestown, New Hampshire Depot on the New England Central Railroad Palmer Subdivision. The depot is now home to a hardware store.
The successor to the Montrealer, the Vermonter runs between St. Albans, Vt., and Washington, DC. Much of the northern part of the route runs along the Connecticut and White Rivers.
