Remarks & Notes
American View Of The Bronx. On the late morning of March 20, 2024, Amtrak Train 171 was passing through the Oak Point section of the Bronx, New York with AMTK 10005 (Catenary Measurement), 10002 (Corridor Clipper), and AMTK 10004 (American View) on the rear. These cars periodically travel the system either as part of a regular service train or as a special move to inspect various aspects of the system, in this case also noteworthy for the unusual appearance from a Viewliner I on the Hell Gate Line. This area is presently undergoing extensive construction to increase capacity ahead of the MTA Penn Station Access program. Projected for completion in 2027, MTA Metro-North Railroad will start offering commuters another option for travel between New Haven, Connecticut to Penn Station in New York, New York.
