Disco Era Meet. NJ TRANSIT Trains NJT 3260 with ALP-46A NJTR 4640 (40th Anniversary/"Disco") and NJT 3723 with Arrow III NJTR 1436 had a passing meet north/east of the Elizabeth, New Jersey Station on the evening of Friday, March 1, 2024. The Arrow IIIs were actually delivered from manufacturer General Electric in 1977/1978, prior to the creation of NJ Transit when NJTDOT was still contracting with Conrail to operate passenger service. But subsequent to NJ Transit's creation in 1979, the cars were re-lettered with the NJT name and tri-colored "disco stripe" logo. In 2023, this ALP-46A was repainted for NJT's 40th anniversary of assuming operation of all commuter rail service to resemble to the electric locomotive paint scheme of that era for the General Electric built E60s that was later also worn by the ALP-44 class.
