Remarks & Notes
VAUGHN NM Sept 25 1988 — Santa Fe SD40-2 5149 and SD45u 5346 pull a TOFC train past the station on the way east to Clovis NM. EMD delivered the unit (s/n 796386-9) in October 1980 in blue body with yellow warbonnet. In April 1994 Morrison Knudsen performed maintenance on the unit and applied 15-inch MKM lettering one the cab sides. On September 22 1995 it was transferred to Burlington Northern Santa Fe. On June 13 1998 it received BNSF H1 livery and was renumbered BNSF 6877. It was later renumbered BNSF 1717. Corrections and/or additions welcome. My photo.
