Diesel powered double passenger railcars Bm 4/8 # 203 A/B (left) and # 211 A/B (right) built by StadlerRail, in Hemishofen, on the never electrified former SBB line Etzwilen-Singen am Hohentwiel/Germany. The Chinese corporation Huawei has ordered 14 diesel-electric double railcars from StadlerRail for its huge campus in Dongguan (north of Hongkong), which has several kilometers of standard gauge track. They are to be modeled on the ABe 4/4 51-56 (Tw III) of the Rhaetian Railway, Bernina line, and the company apparently wants to bring "Swissness" to its campus...... The double railcars will make test runs on the Etzwilen-Singen museum railway line between Hemishofen and Ramsen. The maximum velocity is 60 km/h. One of the cars is powered by an underfloor diesel engine, the Swiss designation is Bm 4/8. It takes quite a bit of imagination to describe this vehicle as similar to the ABe 4/4s of the Bernina line. The interior of this vehicle # 203 is similar to a metro, with longitudinal benches made of dark polished wooden slats and handrails for standing passengers. The vehicle # 211 will have a "VIP" interior, which will be built in in China.
