Due to the devistating flooding in Vermont in early July 2023 and subsequent washouts along the NECR, no trains were able to run on the Roxbury sub between Essex and points south. On July 17th, the first trains began to run again. Here, NECR 324 makes a rare daytime appearance as they roll through Waterbury at 25 mph, well under the 40 mph track speed limit. They would meed the northbound 323 at Roxbury siding.
