The history here. I remember riding a Greyhound bus thru this town at this very spot at the stroke of midnight sometime in 1980 with my family heading to Shreveport and have never forgotten it, but remains one spot you have to be dedicated to the hobby to photograph as SO MUCH needs to come into play now. When it was announced the mill at the end of the line in Foley was closing, it was already too late to plan, as far as planning anything in this region goes. It is now day-to-day in terms of what the crews can do & where they go. While the G-P traffic has ended, with cars still being turned back, the line is still active for the rock loads to Anderson Columbia at Foley Junction, which contains some of the original LOPG tangent. In the foreground of this shot you also see original LOPG/LPG ROW branching off. Truly a remarkable spot if you are into historical aspects of the industry.
