Remarks & Notes
Behind the Scenes. New York & Atlantic (NYA) MP15AC no. 156 is seen leading a mixed train up the LIRR Bay Ridge Branch. The line parallels the Sea Beach Line of the NYC Subway for a couple stops, running behind Fort Hamilton Pkwy station and under 8 Av station. It was built by the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) between 1876 and 1883, and at its peak was four tracks serving New Haven Railroad trains from New England via the New York Connecting Railroad to the float bridges at 65th St Yard - because of the NH operation the line was electrified with overhead catenary rather than the LIRR's typical third rail.

A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
